That You Know
By that I mean, if something were to happen to you today, right now, and your life on this planet was over, where would you spend eternity?
Are you counting on "being a good person" to get you into heaven?
Have you ever lied, even a small little innocent white lie? (I am guilty!) Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you (I stole a pack of lifesavers when I was 4 from a shopping mall and stuck them in my pants, my mom found out and carried me back to pay the guy a dime, yes, they really were that cheap once) Having done these things makes me a liar and a thief, in the eyes of God I am a wretched sinner, and the penalty for that is hell. You see, we can never, ever, ever be "good enough" to earn our way to heaven, Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, apart from Him, we WILL spend eternity in hell. The good news is that God does not want to be separated from us, he does not want us to suffer that fate, So he sent His son Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for our sins, and if we believe in Him, and turn from our wickedness, then we can spend eternity with the Father in Heaven.
